William McCracken, LCSW, ICADC, CMT-P

Bill has been practicing various forms of meditation for almost 30 years. He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Internationally Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and IMTA Certified Mindfulness Teacher - Professional Level. Bill's experience as a teacher of mindfulness comes from his training through The Center for Mindfulness at the UMass Medical Center. He has completed the 7 Day Intensive in Mind Body Medicine, the 9 Day Practicum, and the 10 Day Teacher Development Intensive classes required through the Oasis Institute for Mindfulness-based Education and Training and is recognized as a teacher of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). Bill is also a certified Koru Teacher through the Koru Mindfulness Program at Duke University. He has also been practicing Zen for over 20 years and a teacher in that tradition since 2005. Bill has been offering classes in Mindfulness Based Interventions since 2008. Currently, Bill is head of the College-wide Task Force on Mindfulness at Delaware Technical Community College where he developed and implemented mindfulness classes at the college for students, faculty, and staff and is in the process of developing a professional training program in mindfulness.
